Class 3 is made up of Year 2 and Year 3 pupils.

Our Class Teachers are:
Welcome to the Summer term in Class 3!
Our latest newsletter is available to download here:
All current information regarding our curriculum is on the newsletter, however if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Miss Conaboy.
Please remember our P.E. lesson is on a Monday afternoon and all children need a full change of clothes (preferably navy or black shorts and a white tshirt) and a pair of trainers.
All children will bring home a reading book. Children need to read at LEAST four times a week and this needs to be recorded in their reading record. Some children will bring home a log book which will have their weeks spellings written down. They need to be learned in time for their test which is on a Monday.
Class Dojo is a website we use here at Burnhope. You and your child each have your own log in details (If you don’t have yours, please contact Miss Conaboy.) Your child can earn points for a variety of different positive behaviours, including being polite and reading at home! For earning 50, 100 and 150 points, they receive certificates. Once your child has earned 200 points, there will be a prize (prize to be decided!) As your child receives their points, their progress is sent directly to a downloadable app. Updates on Class 3 and what we have been busy learning, are regularly posted. Class Dojo is also a way for parents and teachers to keep in contact via a private messaging system.
At Burnhope Primary School, we are promoting British Values. In Class 3 we have been focusing on British Values in a variety of ways. As part of our spiritual development, we have begun to develop an understanding of our own beliefs and those of the people around us. We understand there are a variety of different religious beliefs and we are learning to respect that people might not believe the same thing as we do. We have been doing this as part of our R.E. topic this term as we have been learning about Hinduism.
As part of our moral development, we have been looking at our ability to distinguish right from wrong, and more recently our own confidence to act according to what we believe is right or wrong, even if others around us don’t agree. We have been working on this during our PSHCE lessons where we have had regular circle time and discussed how we would behave in a given situation.
We have worked hard on our social development so far this year. We have had a variety of visitors into our classroom and have participated in activities relevant to our community. Most recently we were very lucky to be able to participate in part of Durham War Memorial Project. We were lucky enough to meet some ladies from the Durham Light Infantry Museum as well as Durham Archives. They brought us along artefacts as well as a whole load of information about Burnhope. It was really interesting!
Here are a list of websites that are suitable for Class 3 children to use:
The children love this website. It features facts and information about the animals that live at the zoo, as well as games, stories and activities. The children’s favourite part of the website is the ‘live cam’ where they can see the animals in real time, wandering round their enclosures.
This is our online reading programme. Each child has their own individual log in and password and can access reading books at their level, from home. Please contact Miss Conaboy for your child’s log in details if they don’t have them.
This is where we access our online maths. Each child is assigned activities to complete, depending on what we have been working on during maths lessons. Once those assigned activities are completed, the children are free to access any maths activities they like, including ‘live maths’ where they can compete with other children from around the world!
When we have free time, we enjoy accessing the cbeebies website. There are lots of videos for us to watch as well as hundreds of games for us to play. A lot of the games help us with our maths and English skills!
We use this website to help us with our times table fluency!
